Bad breath, or halitosis, is not
just an adult problem. Sometimes children may have bad breath too. But not
to worry, most of the time, bad breath is not connected to anything
serious.
The most common reason for bad
breath in children is simply poor oral hygiene. Bacteria and decaying food
particle in your mouth produce the foul odor. Also sometime in children,
food particles can get caught in the tonsils and that also can lead to bad
breath.
Also sinus and throat infections
can cause bad breath. Another small health problem that can cause it is
seasonal allergies.
And it's bound to happen...
Children sometimes likes to stick things up their noses; corn kernels,
peas, dimes, crayons, and bugs being some of the time honored favorites.
Sometimes, when food items get stuck up there, the food starts to rot
causing bad breath. Also these items may break skin and cause an infection
that may also cause bad breath. If this happens, don't try to take it out
yourself!! Instead call a physician and have it professionally removed.
If your child doesn't have a any
infection or allergies, and nothing stuck up their nose, the best thing to
do is practice proper oral care. Having them brush and floss 2x a day and
starting them when they get their first tooth is a great start.
We have a great product that can
aid your child in brushing their teeth correctly. As parents, we already
know it is hard enough to get your child to brush and even harder to get
them to floss. The OraSweet Kid's Flossing Toothbrush is the only
toothbrush that can brush and floss your child's mouth at the same time.
This toothbrush is not to replace flossing but it greatly enhances your
child's flossing habits. Click the buy now to find great specials on the
